Must Have Hats

Tis the season for hats. And this winter there's a new kid on the block when it comes to head-wear, well actually 3 new kids...Krochet Kids. So what's so special about these designers? Not only are their hats stylish, but they employ local women in Uganda whom they have personally taught to crochet their designs,  therefore allowing them to earn a fair wage for a 40 hour work week. But it doesn't stop there. They cap the work week at 25 hours, and the remaining 15 hours are spent on health, education and finance classes. WOW, now that's amazing! So when you buy a hat, know you're helping to empower women in Uganda,  helping them to have a better life all while keeping your head fashionably cozy.

Now, Krochet Kids aren't available everywhere, but She She just got in 4 of the hottest styles.... Bella (shown above), Margot, Toob and 5207. And with fans like Taylor Swift and Cameron Diaz already rockin' them, rest assure Krochet Kids will be the next big craze and selling out, so grab yours while they last!

Fringe Alert!

Whether your a hippie chic or one who loves seventies fashions, now you can play up that look with an iconic suede fringe bag that's back in style. But you needn't sport a Woodstock head-to-toe ensemble to work this trend. Take a cue from stars like Paris Hilton and Vanessa Hudgens  who mix it up with their casual day wear attire. At She She Clothing Boutique who always has the latest and hottest, now have in stock fringe bags from JJ Winters, who have a huge celebrity following including Vanessa and Paris. My favorite from this brand that She She carries are styles 323 and 351 shown below. So hurry on in and get yours before they're all gone!

Winter Wardrobe Basics

Ok friends. Its finally getting cold and we need to get our winter wardrobes in order! A great wardrobe is built off a stong foundation, so having all the basics will help you complete the look you dream of having! We put together a checklist below to make sure you are covered. I know every morning when I'm getting dressed, I use at least one item off this list, so lets make sure you have what you need, too. The biggest shopping weekend of the year is almost here so now you have your shopping list and a good reason to get out and fight those crowds!

BUT, before you get started we need to get our closets in order. If you haven't done this already put your summer clothes aside, in another closet or pack them away (I like this idea because they will feel new when you unpack them all next spring). Get out last years sweaters and run them to the dry cleaner. For those of you that store your sweaters properly, you are awesome! I'm not awesome but would love to be, so when its time, we can run though this process together. Oh and please be sure to retire those that are pilling, stretched out or dated! Also, get rid of your cotton tees that have holes (I know I'm not alone in this one!) Clearing out your closet just makes room for more, a saying my mom used to tell me, which always motivated me to get rid of things! Basically, a closet reorganization is needed so plan an afternoon to get this done. My favorite saying is, “take 5 to save 15”. In this case, take a couple hours over the weekend to save 15 minutes every morning. Flipping through your clothes, digging though piles of drawers and running back and forth between closets is no bueno. We do not want to add more chaos to our already busy lives!

Now our closets are organized and ready for more! Read through this list and make sure to pick up anything you might not have. All of these items are available at She She and one of our stylists would love to help you cross them off your list!
Bare bones Essentials (you can always have more) but this is a good start:
Long Sleeve Scoop and/or V-Neck Tshirts
__Black, __White

Sleeveless Sweater – option to throw one of your l/s tops under this to keep you warm . I have a cute one from Free People that you'll often see me wearing.

Long  Sleeve Sweater
__Spaghetti Strap Tanks (great to layer and perfect for off-the-shoulder sweaters)

__Fleece, __Cashmere __Acrylic or Wool Blend…whatever fits into your budget?

__Cotton,__Sweater, __All of the above :)

Long Leggings
__Black, __Charcoal

Denim (Light denim is a good contrast, dark denim compliments this seasons dark colored tops)
__Skinny (so you can tuck in all your cute boots)
__Boot or Flare (Flare is all the rage but if you're not ready for this look, get back in a boot cut to help with the transistion)

Colored Denim
__Charcoal, __Brown and/or__A pop of color (red is my fave)

Slip Dress
(what's this for you ask? Tights are optional, boots a must, a cute sweater over the slip dress will complete this look)

Coat (you may have one from last season, but if not you may need to invest)

__slipon,__ wedge, __botas or__ cordones…you might need 1 of each J

Of course tall boots are a must. I recently purchased black riding boots by Twelfth Street and LOVE! On the hunt for a cute brown pair, leave a comment if you have a suggestion!

This completes your basics, stay tuned as we post new arrivals of clothing and accessories to complete your winter looks!

Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Winter! XO Cara & Amy

Blazing Hot Blazers

Blazing Hot Blazers
A classic that's just not for buttoning up anymore. While its an office staple, it has become a hot trend on the red carpet. Stylish stars like Blake Lively and Sandra Bullock have been spotted pairing their evening dresses with a traditional black blazer. It adds a bit of edge and fresher than a wrap.
Make sure to find one that accentuates your waist versus a boxy fit to define your curves. I'm loving Level 99's Fiona Blazer ($123, in black paired with a Parker sequin dress, $308) at She She Clothing Boutique.
Tip: Leave your blazer unbuttoned, allowing the dress to peek through. And make sure the blazer falls just below your hips to maximize this look.

Music Monday

You may know Leslie Feist (known simply as Feist
as one of the members of indie rock legends
Broken Social Scene, or you may have heard
her songs on an episode of Grey's Anatomy or
is one of those rare indie artists who has managed
to gain wide success in the pop world without
compromising her vision or style.

We love Feist, and we are totally digging her new album Metals, where she once again
crafts beautiful, bittersweet songs about the inevitable unravelling of love. It may be an
age old story, but she makes it sound fresh every time.

Last seasons neon trend is still making spontaneous appearances in subtle ways, but the must have hue this season is bold orange. From frilly frocks to knit separates and tailored coats, its a color that works on all. Invest in a statement piece available at She She Clothing Boutique.

Keep it Tight November is officially the month to start wearing tights again, and this season its all about texture and color. But make sure to go for quality over quantity to avoid nylon sheen. Keep your legs slinky & sexy with a stylish twist!

Leopard print has been a classic for decades, but this Fall its updated in sexy new silhouettes and fabrications. If you're not a print person and shy from it, then gravitate towards leopard print accessories like sexy stilettos that will accent your LBD or skinny jeans.

Jeggins Fashion's least attractive lovechild will highlight every lump and bump on your thighs and bum.

Knuckle Duster Rings Kind of cool in theory, kind of a nightmare if you ever need to do anything involving your hands.

Crop Tops were all the rave, but the midriff season is behind us. So store it away as for Spring 2012 it will make a reappearance.

Milan Fashion Week baring midriff looks

One major trend seen at Milan Fashion Week were midriff baring looks. Prada, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana and Pucci all showed this crop-top look with sexy and sweet bottoms, from pencil skirts to bloomer shorts. So if you’re one who followed in Rihanna or JLo’s fashionable steps earlier this year and invested in one of these, hold on to it and update it for spring with new separates.

The Real Sisters of Palm Desert!

My sister and I, owners of She She and She She Kids (clothing boutiques),  have been wanting to start a Blog for quite some time! (Amy on the right & i'm Cara) We have great ideas we want to share, which we usually come up with at our 5:30am boot camp class. As full time working mothers before we know it our work day is over, the night time routines begin and our heads are still spinning when they hit the pillow just in time for our seven hour recharge (or less depending on if our kids decide to sleep through the night) before we have to do it all over again.
If only you could see what our days entail, I’m sure you would find humor as we do. My sister recently (and jokingly) called me a rundown used car after I went on and on about my hectic life and being sick for four weeks. After a long laugh (that you'll often find us doing), I realized that's what I am. BUT I love it! I am a mom of two, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a pet owner, a hard worker, a this, a that who keeps the house in order, laundry cleaned, bottles washed (ok I’ll give my hubby credit for that), kids clothes, toys and life organized, well you get my drift. All the stuff that makes me feel alive!
My sister’s life is a little more humorous. She has an eighteen month old, a five year old and a seven year old. Her life is boys, girls, sports, dance, gymnastics, play-dates, school, homework, drive here, drive there, drive everywhere, bla bla bla (and we’ll give her hubby some credit too, “Ryan, you’re doing a great job!”). All while keeping me on the phone telling me about her morning, afternoon and night of what she did and didn't accomplish that day. If we're not sitting next to each other at the office,  or working out together or vacationing together, we're on the phone listening to our husbands tell us to get off the phone that we'll see each other tomorrow. It is a bit nauseating but it gives us a chance to catch up on....well...who knows, we're just annoyingly close.
And then there is our Mother, Eve! She is our silent partner, BUT she's not so silent (wink, wink), “Hi Mom, we love and adore you!” Wait till you get a glimpse into her life, I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.  She can fit about 15 grandkids in her car at once, I still haven’t figured out how. If she’s not taking care of one of her grandkids, she's on the phone with one of her three daughters (yes we have another sister we’ll introduce you to), doing laundry, grocery shopping or just moving and shaking. She's our believer, motivator, lecturer and executor of all our great ideas! She is what brought She She and She She Kids to life, so without her you wouldn’t be reading this…Thanks Mom!
Anyway, back to why we want to blog. We get the inside scoop on what's hot, what's not, what coming in what’s going out, what you NEED, what you don't need and we want to share this with you! We also want to share our own struggles of finding the perfect things to wear, keeping our closets clean and organized, staying up to date on clothing, keeping our kids clothed and organized and the struggles of keeping a balance between work and home. Our hopes are to keep you up to date, informed and laughing with our crazy busy lives!
Thanks for reading our first entry! We can't wait to share what we come up with next at our 5:30am boot camp class...yes; I said 5:30am!

We are so excited to announce our newest denim line, Mother, created by Tim Kaeding, formerly with 7 of all mankind, and Lela Tillem, formerly with Citizens of Humanity (so yes, they have some experience)! The talented pair joined forces in 2010 to create their own contemporary label that "make your legs look long and your rear look great". With the aim of perfecting the fit, finish and feel of each pair, they quickly gained recognition for their use of super soft fabrics and subtle details, making Mother's jeans an essential addition to any fashionista's wardrobe.
The box is on its way so stay tuned,
we'll post pics as soon as they arrive!
