Winter Wardrobe Basics

Ok friends. Its finally getting cold and we need to get our winter wardrobes in order! A great wardrobe is built off a stong foundation, so having all the basics will help you complete the look you dream of having! We put together a checklist below to make sure you are covered. I know every morning when I'm getting dressed, I use at least one item off this list, so lets make sure you have what you need, too. The biggest shopping weekend of the year is almost here so now you have your shopping list and a good reason to get out and fight those crowds!

BUT, before you get started we need to get our closets in order. If you haven't done this already put your summer clothes aside, in another closet or pack them away (I like this idea because they will feel new when you unpack them all next spring). Get out last years sweaters and run them to the dry cleaner. For those of you that store your sweaters properly, you are awesome! I'm not awesome but would love to be, so when its time, we can run though this process together. Oh and please be sure to retire those that are pilling, stretched out or dated! Also, get rid of your cotton tees that have holes (I know I'm not alone in this one!) Clearing out your closet just makes room for more, a saying my mom used to tell me, which always motivated me to get rid of things! Basically, a closet reorganization is needed so plan an afternoon to get this done. My favorite saying is, “take 5 to save 15”. In this case, take a couple hours over the weekend to save 15 minutes every morning. Flipping through your clothes, digging though piles of drawers and running back and forth between closets is no bueno. We do not want to add more chaos to our already busy lives!

Now our closets are organized and ready for more! Read through this list and make sure to pick up anything you might not have. All of these items are available at She She and one of our stylists would love to help you cross them off your list!
Bare bones Essentials (you can always have more) but this is a good start:
Long Sleeve Scoop and/or V-Neck Tshirts
__Black, __White

Sleeveless Sweater – option to throw one of your l/s tops under this to keep you warm . I have a cute one from Free People that you'll often see me wearing.

Long  Sleeve Sweater
__Spaghetti Strap Tanks (great to layer and perfect for off-the-shoulder sweaters)

Cardigan
__Fleece, __Cashmere __Acrylic or Wool Blend…whatever fits into your budget?

Tunic
__Cotton,__Sweater, __All of the above :)

Long Leggings
__Black, __Charcoal

Tights
__Black

Denim (Light denim is a good contrast, dark denim compliments this seasons dark colored tops)
__Skinny (so you can tuck in all your cute boots)
__Boot or Flare (Flare is all the rage but if you're not ready for this look, get back in a boot cut to help with the transistion)

Colored Denim
__Charcoal, __Brown and/or__A pop of color (red is my fave)

Slip Dress
(what's this for you ask? Tights are optional, boots a must, a cute sweater over the slip dress will complete this look)

Scarf
__Print,__Solid
Coat (you may have one from last season, but if not you may need to invest)

TOMS
__slipon,__ wedge, __botas or__ cordones…you might need 1 of each J

Of course tall boots are a must. I recently purchased black riding boots by Twelfth Street and LOVE! On the hunt for a cute brown pair, leave a comment if you have a suggestion!

This completes your basics, stay tuned as we post new arrivals of clothing and accessories to complete your winter looks!

Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Winter! XO Cara & Amy
